River Docs is a multimedia documentary about the life and history of the Catawba River, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mike Wirth collaborated with a team of five artists and the project’s curator, June Lambla of Lambla ArtWorks. The group of 5 artists were, three Charlotte area photographers, Byron Baldwin, Raymond Grubb, and Nancy Pierce and a Polish art and design team of two, Marek Ranis and Maya Godelewska. With Mike Wirth as an interactive exhibit designer they produced a traveling exhibit the tells a rich story about our shared cities vital water and energy resource. The exhibit has been on display at the Lightfactory: Museum of photography and film, Museum of York County, & the Duke Energy Explorium. Creative Loafing Charlotte named River Docs as “The Best Art Exhibit” in the staff pick in 2008.
